Do I need a car for this Dublin itinerary?

No. The center is walkable, the western museums have public-transport or taxi options, and the coast is served by DART. Check the actual service on your dates and leave extra time from your hotel to the first reservation.

What if Kilmainham is sold out?

Do not buy an unverified resale ticket. Keep the western day for IMMA and its grounds, then visit Guinness if wanted. You can also give the National Gallery more time on another day; the itinerary should adjust to a real booking, not invent one.

Is the coastal day a difficult hike?

Where to stay

The southeast center keeps the first day's walks compact and provides access to DART trains for the coast. Compare street noise as well as walking distance before booking; staying in the busiest late-night quarter is not necessary to enjoy an evening out.

Getting around

Walk the central sights, use a bus, tram or taxi for Kilmainham, and take a DART train toward Dún Laoghaire for the coast. Check current rail engineering works before departure. Coastal walking is conditional on the weather, and none of these transfer estimates is a live departure time.
