Trip days and nights calculator

Enter the arrival and departure dates to count accommodation nights, calendar dates touched and full days between travel days. The dates stay in this browser and are not uploaded or saved.

This is the first calendar date included in the trip.
The departure date is not counted as a hotel night.

Enter arrival and departure dates to calculate trip days and nights.

Add both dates. For example, arriving June 10 and departing June 13 is three nights across four calendar dates.

What this count does and does not mean

Nights are the date gaps between arrival and departure. Calendar days include both endpoints. “Full days between” excludes the arrival and departure dates; it does not know your flight times, early check-in, late check-out, overnight transport, hotel policy or time zones.

Use the count correctly

Separate room nights from dates on the itinerary.

The calculator uses calendar dates only. Confirm check-in, check-out and overnight-transport rules with the actual booking before reserving accommodation.

Once the room-night count is clear, enter the complete lodging total in the trip cost and travel budget calculator alongside transport, food, activities and a separate buffer.

Count check-out as a date, not a night

A June 10 arrival and June 13 departure normally means the nights of June 10, 11 and 12: three nights across four calendar dates.

Keep same-day trips at zero nights

When arrival and departure are the same date, the result is one calendar date and no overnight stay.

Add times and hotel rules separately

The count does not decide whether an overnight flight, early arrival or late departure needs another room night.
