Clicky analytics

Clicky loads on every page regardless of your cookie selections. Rejecting optional analytics does not disable Clicky. It measures page visits and interactions and receives page addresses, referrers, browser information and connection information through our server. Clicky may use its own cookies depending on its privacy settings; our optional analytics controls do not manage those cookies.

Information you provide

We keep the account details needed to sign you in, along with the destinations, dates, preferences, itineraries, edits, and home base information you choose to save.

Essential cookies and session records keep you signed in and protect your account. Map Your Days does not use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

Services used to build a trip

OpenAI processes trip preferences to draft itineraries. Google Maps supplies live places, maps, routes, and place details. Railway hosts the application and database, and Amazon SES sends account and requested trip-status emails.

Cloudflare provides domain and network services. Providers receive the information needed for their role. Account-registration alerts go to the site operator; they are not marketing emails.

Google’s browser content is optional and is blocked until you allow it in cookie settings. Server-side AI and travel-data requests are needed to deliver the trip-planning features you request. Avoid adding health information or other sensitive personal details to your trip preferences.

Google coordinates and rich place details are used when needed and are not saved with your itinerary. We may retain a stable Google Place ID and an address you entered yourself so your chosen home base and stops can be found again.

Free Time Finder sends the starting location, available-time preferences and travel mode to our server so it can request nearby places and routes from Google. We do not save those searches or starting locations.

Home Base Compare sends the candidate lodging areas, priority places and travel mode you enter so our server can request current place matches and route estimates from Google. The comparison is available only after you allow Google maps and place details. We do not save these comparison inputs or results.

Anonymous site statistics

When enabled, our separate first-party statistics do not require an optional opt-in. They help improve the site using daily totals for page categories, broad referral categories, tool interactions, successful actions, fixed planner milestones and performance buckets. We aggregate each accepted request immediately. No individual event log, visitor or account ID, exact timestamp, full URL or referrer, campaign text, IP address, browser fingerprint or trip input is stored in these statistics. They are not joined to account records or shared with an analytics provider, and are deleted after 90 UTC dates during cleanup every six hours.

These are action counts, not unique people or linked conversion journeys. Known crawler signatures are excluded; unknown automation and repeat visits can still affect totals. We also read aggregate operational totals from existing account and planning-job records, without joining them to these statistics or attributing them to individual visitors. Those operational records already exist to provide the service; this does not add tracking records.

You can freely turn anonymous site statistics off in Cookie settings. Reject optional stops future anonymous counts too. Earlier analytics rejections, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. A necessary preference cookie remembers an explicit choice for up to 180 days, without an identifier. Because daily totals contain no individual identifier, we cannot find or remove your contribution from an already aggregated total. Our server necessarily handles connection information to deliver requests; hosting and security logs are separate from this statistics store. Clicky is also separate and is not covered by this exemption design.

Optional analytics

Optional analytics is off until you allow it. We use Google Analytics to understand visits to our public pages, and separate first-party analytics to understand where people reach or leave the planner, as well as signups and completed plans. If you agree, a first-party cookie recognizes this browser for up to 30 days. We record a broad source category, a campaign label, and which public landing page you first visited—not full URLs, names, email addresses, or trip content. Planner measurement uses only fixed milestone categories such as start, step complete, preview viewed, submit, first edit and day replan—not destinations, dates, notes, form values or arbitrary page data.

If you create an account during that period, an internal account ID links that visit to your email verification status and whether you start or submit a trip, finish a plan, make an edit or request a day replan within 30 days of the visit. This is pseudonymous data, not anonymous data. We keep attribution records for 90 days, then remove them during automatic cleanup, which runs every six hours. We do not send these account-linked records to Google Analytics or an advertising service.

Google Analytics receives visits to public pages, browser and device information, a pseudonymous cookie identifier and a referring website category or origin. Google receives connection information, including your IP address, when your browser contacts it. We exclude account pages, the planner and private trips, and do not send account IDs, email addresses, form entries, search text, URL query strings or private trip content. Advertising features, Google signals and automatic form and search tracking are disabled.

Google Analytics cookies last up to 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. User-level and event-level retention is set to two months; standard aggregated reports may remain longer. See how Google uses information from partner sites and our cookie details.

Declining does not affect trip planning. Your choice is remembered for six months, and we respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Declining later requests removal of this browser’s attribution and, if signed in, attribution linked to your account. It also stops future Google Analytics collection on this browser and removes its first-party analytics cookies. It does not automatically erase information already processed by Google; contact us about a data request. A daily-changing keyed network digest limits abuse; raw IP addresses are not stored in our first-party analytics records. Standard security logs are separate.

Retention and choices

Saved account and trip information remains available until it is changed or deleted. Limited security and operational records may be kept long enough to protect and operate the service.

Avoid putting confidential personal information in trip notes or preferences. You can change saved trip details in the app. A request to access or remove account information can be made by emailing [email protected]. We verify requests before changing or disclosing account data.

Why we use information

Where GDPR applies, account creation, authentication, saved trips and requested service emails are processed to provide our service to you (performance of a contract). Optional analytics and embedded Google content rely on your consent. Protecting the service, preventing abuse and diagnosing failures serve our legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable service. Minimising information before keeping anonymous service-use totals serves our legitimate interest in improving the site, with a free right to object. This is separate from optional account-linked or third-party analytics and is not used for advertising or profiling. Information may also be retained where a legal obligation requires it.

Trip suggestions are generated automatically, but you decide what to use. We do not use these suggestions to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. You do not have to accept optional cookies to create an account or plan a trip.

Some service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer safeguards relevant to your data.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, including EU and UK GDPR, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Email [email protected] from your account’s email address and tell us what you need. You do not need an account to ask a privacy question. Please do not send passwords, payment information or identity documents unless we specifically request necessary verification.

These links open your email app; they do not immediately delete anything. We handle requests manually and normally respond within one month. If the law permits more time for a complex request, we will explain the reason and timing. Rights have exceptions, for example where information must be kept to meet a legal obligation. You may complain to your local data-protection authority without contacting us first.
