AfrikaBurn 2027

AfrikaBurn is a participant-created temporary city, not a serviced music festival with a booked lineup. Decide how you will contribute, who owns every camp supply and how the vehicle and driver will reach and leave the desert before you commit to the trip.

Event dates confirmedEdition operations still developing

Schedule status: 2027 dates confirmed; ticket products, gate operations and the final preparation guide are still developing.

The immovable part

Choose the anchor first.

Choose an established camp or a transparent independent-camp plan, then assign water, food, shade, shelter, waste, vehicle and recovery responsibilities by name. A ticket alone does not create a supplied or safely reachable trip.

Before booking

Resolve the decisions that can break the trip.

Choose camp and contribution first

Confirm what an established camp actually supplies and what work it expects, or make every independent-camp dependency visible. Do not use a commercial turnkey camp as a substitute for participation and self-reliance.

Make the road plan defensible

Use the current official route page, verify the vehicle and rental terms, travel with daylight and fatigue margin, and never replace live road guidance with a timeless GPS route.

Own every essential supply

Assign water, food, shelter, weather protection, medication, tools and waste removal to named people. Recheck the organizer's current quantities and rules before loading the vehicle.

Self-reliant trip structure

Three protected phases before optional activities.

This is a planning skeleton, not a gate schedule or live road instruction. Replace every operational assumption with the final 2027 organizer material before departure.

Draft this destination without an account
Phase 1 · Supply and inspect

Arrive early enough to fix a problem

Use a protected preparation day for the vehicle, rental permission, water, food, shade, shelter, tools and the current route—not for another city itinerary.

  1. Reconcile the camp inventory so every shared and personal item has a named owner.
  2. Inspect tyres, spares, load balance and roadside coverage against the current official route guidance.
  3. Download the live instructions, record a rendezvous and keep essential contacts available offline.
Phase 2 · Build and participate

Treat setup, contribution and strike as the event

Protect sleep, water, food and camp responsibilities while leaving the creative program flexible and participant-led.

  1. Complete camp setup before treating art, volunteering or events as free time.
  2. Ask for express permission before photographing anyone and obtain separate permission before sharing an image.
  3. Keep waste contained and plan for every item brought in to leave with the group.
Phase 3 · Exit and recover

Leave with a fit driver, complete camp and flexible night

The return road and cleanup are part of the safety plan, not an afterthought at the end of the final night.

  1. Finish strike and the camp's leave-no-trace check before joining the exit flow.
  2. Reassess the driver, vehicle, tyres, load, weather and live road information before moving.
  3. Use a flexible recovery night before any long-haul flight or high-stakes onward connection.
Planning tools

Turn the event constraints into a working trip.

These tools organize decisions; they do not verify live event rules, roads, tickets or availability.

Plan around reality

Keep these constraints visible.

There is no conventional lineup

Participants create the art, performance, music, camps and services. Use the eventual event guide for discovery without presenting it as a promoter-booked program.

Privacy requires active consent

The current organizer guidance requires express permission before photographing or filming a participant, and permission to take an image does not automatically permit online sharing.

The route is a live fact

Road conditions, recommended approaches and hazards change. Link to the organizer's current route page and never turn an older update into evergreen directions.

Publication gate

Recheck the facts that can change the trip.

Confirm the live 2027 ticket, vehicle, gate, route, accessibility and preparation rules before buying transport or treating any prior-year instruction as current.

Refresh this page when:

  • The organizer publishes internally consistent 2027 ticket, vehicle-pass and transfer terms.
  • The 2027 event map and final operations or preparation guide publish.
  • Official route, road-condition, gate, medical, accessibility, fire or prohibited-item guidance changes.
  • Theme-camp, volunteer, art, performance or mutant-vehicle deadlines change.
